Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs Grant Received

The Metropolitan Detroit Chorale is fortunate once again to have received a grant from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs. In partnership with the State of Michigan, this agency makes monies available through its Minigrant program. This program helps to fund locally developed, high quality arts projects. Such projects are special opportunities to address local arts needs and to increase public access to the arts. Minigrants support a broad range of artistic expression from all cultures through projects which preserve, produce or present the traditional or contemporary arts. Through local agencies, the money is regranted to deserving organizations.

The Art Center in Mount Clemens is designated as the state's Regional Regranting Agency for Macomb County. The efforts of these agencies are not highly visible, for most of their work is done behind the scenes. The Metropolitan Detroit Chorale has benefited from their endeavors and appreciates their support.

This year the Chorale's Masterworks concert on May 16 will be supported by this granting program. If programs like these are important to you, the Chorale encourages you to contact your legislators and let them know that you want funding for such programs to be continued.
