Caledon, Scotland’s Tenors, Returns to Fraser, Michigan
On Friday, February 1, 2008, Caledon, Scotland’s Three Tenors, will return for a second performance in Fraser, Michigan. Having first appeared at the Fraser Performing Arts Center in the fall of 2006, the members of Caledon, Alan Beck, Ivan Sharpe, Jamie MacDougall, with their music director Michael Barnett, are as eager to return as those who heard their last performance here are eager to have them back. This concert will be part of their 2008 tour. Past tours have taken them to Japan, Malaysia, Canada, Australia and Europe. Beck, Sharpe, and MacDougall will teach the students of Fraser High School’s vocal music program as “artists in residence” during the day. In the evening, The Fraser Singers and the Metropolitan Detroit Chorale will join them on stage for a few numbers as part of their highly entertaining, energetic concert comprised of a wide variety of music.

Mox Scholar Returns as Messiah Soloist
Angelina Acquaviva will appear as soprano soloists for the Metropolitan Detroit Chorale's performance of Handel's Messiah, December 2, 2007. A graduate of Fraser High School, Fraser, Michigan, Angelina auditioned for and was awarded the Richard and Carol Mox Scholarship in 2005 and again in 2007. The scholarship is awarded annually by the Chorale to Fraser graduates pursuing advanced studies in vocal music.
Angelina is a junior at Grand Valley State University where she is a Vocal Performance Major. Her goal is to continue her music education through a master's degree then to teach music at the college level. At Grand Valley, she has been a featured performer in The Pirates of Penzance and Ragtime. Friday, November 16, she will give her Junior Recital at Grand Valley featuring selections in Latin, German, French and English.
Angelina knew that she wanted to be a musician at a very early age. Her biggest fan and supporter, her mother Eileen, remembers Angelina's telling her at age 7 that she wanted to "sing on stage". First cast as the youngest orphan in the musical Annie, Angelina went on the perform many times on the Fraser Performing Arts Center stage both as an instrumental musician and as a vocal musician while in high school. Angelina's performance with MDC will be her first professional performance. MDC is proud and happy to welcome her home.

Metropolitan Detroit Chorale to Make Third Appearance at Carnegie Hall
Members of the Metropolitan Detroit Chorale, together with their director Pasquale Pascaretti, will join with other singers in a concert on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. The Chorale will participate in a performance of Handel’s Messiah conducted by the well-known British composer John Rutter. Members of the Chorale have performed twice before with Mr. Rutter at Carnegie Hall presenting his own compositions Requiem (2001) and Mass of the Children (2003). They are looking forward to his insights and interpretations of Handel’s well-known oratorio.
